Youngsters Open Gym

Please note that Youngsters Open Gym sessions have been discontinued for the summer and will resume in the autumn.  Your patronage of this program over the last year is much appreciated.

The Legacy Academy Activity Center seasonally hosts a Youngsters Open Gym program during the non-summer months.  This program is open to the public and no advance reservation is required though open gym hours do change seasonally. 

Children from toddlers up to age 12 are welcome to participate in the  morning open gym program which is primarily attended by preschool children and youngsters in the lower grades. 

The open gym program held on weekday afternoons is available for children up to age 14 with students who are home schooled in Dane County being especially invited to participate.

Youngsters can enjoy our entire 6,000 square foot indoor playground including its padded activity floors, recreational room, table games  (including stick hockey, foosball, shuffleboard, air hockey, & pool tables), Lego play table, swinging ropes, regulation & kiddie basketball hoops, Rainbow Castle Playset, jumping platform & landing pad,  adventure tunnel, tricycles, swing sets, tire swing, hoppity balls, ring & bean bag tosses, jump ropes, hula hoops, gymnastics mats,  training bars, spring boards, and other play equipment.  An adult relative or a nanny hired by the parents is required to supervise any children present under the age of seven. 

The user charge for each two hour open gym session is $5.00 per child with no charge for supervising adults or tots under one year old.  Coupon books good for 30 child-visits may also be purchased for $135.00 ($4.50 per child-visit, a 10% discount off the normal price).

Parents and/or nannies are welcome to bring in snacks at their option.  A refrigerator, freezer, microwave ovens, and cafeteria tables are available for customer use.  A comfortable sitting room suitable for nursing and a baby changing table are also available as well as baby highchairs.

If your organization or group would like to arrnage to make the Legacy Academy a field trip destination then we are glad to schedule such visits year 'round.  Our usual price for such group visits is $4.00 per child for groups with ten or more children (no charge for tots under one year old) for a two-hour playdate at our indoor playground.
